Alkali metals are some of the most reactive elements within the periodic table. They all have very low melting and boiling points, are soft and not very dense. 

They are found in everyday items like bananas, batteries and salt. They have extreme reactions with water and can be incredibly expensive to produce. Francium would cost a few billion dollars to buy!
